Lift Weight and Produce Electricity with the Power of Wind.
- Open Inquiry activity into wind power
- Simple to use guide
With this STEM-based project kit, students are able to build a wind powered lift, or a more advanced turbine. Students will design their own blades to generate and measure mechanical and electrical power while investigating blade configuration, shape, and material to create ideal power levels. This inquiry based wind kit meets Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Components include wood bases, motors and motor supports, hubs and alligator clips, blade shafts/skewers, and wooden support structures. Each kit includes components for up to eight students.
Required but not included: Multi-meters and raw materials to create blades.
