Learn About Dichotomous Keys by Classifying Seeds

Introduce your students to the most commonly used binary system of classification — the dichotomous key. Students will create their own key by using observation and clear descriptors in order to accurately categorize and identify seeds. Once they have finished their own key, students will exchange keys for a peer review to ensure that each organism can be properly identified. The kit includes materials for 15 setups, a teacher’s guide, and student copymaster.
