By treating grape or apple juice that you supply with a yeast culture, then monitoring for carbon dioxide evolution as the juice’s sugars are converted to alcohol, students learn about the process of fermentation.
This versatile kit also allows you to expand on the exercise by beginning with fresh grapes, or continuing to observe as the alcohol becomes vinegar.
