Basic Molecular Structure Shown in Three-Dimensional Model.
- Visualize the Electron-Dot diagrams
- Teacher's guide included
- Aligned to NGSS standards (MS/HS: PS1, PS2, PS3)
Teach students how to transfer the concept of basic molecular structure from a two-dimensional electron-dot diagram to an actual three-dimensional model in a few easy steps. The three-dimensional models provide a realistic representation of the configuration of a substance and indicate its physical properties. Studying the electron-dot diagram and then building a molecular model allows students to more easily grasp how unshared electron pairs and covalent bonds determine the structure of molecules.
The kit is also available for purchase with a link to a NewPath digital lesson, which includes a variety of resources on the topic, including background information, illustrations and self-assessments.
