Hands-On and Versatile Demonstration of Mechanics
- Includes a text with activities designed for high school level study
- Unit is approximately 39" in height
This gravity-powered metal car demonstrates the various principles of mechanics, including Newton's Laws of motion, energy and energy conversion, momentum, impulse, and work, showing each concept individually as well as integrated together in a system. As energy weights fall from the cart, the force of the weight produces tension in a flexible driveline. The car accelerates at a constant rate until the weights descend to the chassis, and then decelerates at a constant rate due to frictional forces, before eventually coming to a stop.
