This lab uses an ingenious gas collection method to collect and determine the amount of CO₂ liberated from a reaction between NaHCO₃ and HCl.
- Developed by Mary Gallup
- Grades 10 to 12
The ideal gas law and Dalton’s law of partial pressure are used to determine the number of moles of CO₂ gas actually produced. Includes materials for 40 student groups.
Ordering information: An electronic balance with readability to 0.01 g is required but not included. Includes gas collecting tubes, Alka-Seltzer tables, HCl, NaHCO₃, test tubes, stoppers glycerol, instructions.
